The PlayStation Now service has gotten a big upgrade today, with the announcement that subscribers can now download games in addition to the existing streaming option. The company boasts that “almost all” of the PS4 games on the service can be downloaded, along with the lineup of PS2 games. This doesn’t include the line-up of PS3 games.

Sony has announced that the company’s game streaming service PlayStation Now is receiving the new option of downloading games locally on the PS4 console. This way, games played through the service will no longer require being streamed online, requiring extensive bandwidth. Users will still have the option to stream their games.

Sony has been running their PlayStation Plus service for a number of years now and much like Microsoft’s Xbox Game Pass, players who subscribe to PlayStation Plus will receive a few games to enjoy each month free of charge. The game is also available after the month ends just as long as you keep up with your online PlayStation Plus subscription.
