If you’ve been curious about DC’s new streaming service, then you’re in luck, as DC Universe launched a day early on September 14, and you can currently register for it here. When it was originally announced, fans of DC Comics and Entertainment were pretty surprised, but nonetheless, excited. The new subscription streaming app combines traditional TV and movies with comic books and even an encyclopedia. It’s incredibly ambitious. And while the early experience we had with the beta version of the app was fun, it leaving us want a bit more.

Henry Cavill was first announced in the role of Superman back in 2011, and to date he has appeared in three DC movies–Man of Steel, Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice, and Justice League. However, it has now been reported that he is set to leave the DC Universe and will not play the character again.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, DC was looking to include a Superman cameo in next year’s Shazam. However, negotiations with Cavill broke down, and with the studio increasingly moving away from the current version of their superhero universe, the actor is unlikely to reprise the role.

At long last, there’s some big news when it comes to the upcoming streaming service DC Universe. The new offering, which includes original programming, as well as access to movies, TV shows, cartoons, and comics based on TV properties will launch on September 15–otherwise known as Batman Day.
At that point, the service will be released with a slew of content for members, including DC Daily–a new daily show that keeps viewers up to date on everything related to the DC Universe.
